The TV anime Magical Sisters LuluttoLilly, the latest entry in Studio Pierrot’s long running Pierrot Magical Girl Series, is set to premiere in April 2026. Ahead of its broadcast, the main visual and the first main promotional video have been unveiled, along with the announcement that the opening theme song will be performed by K pop group ILLIT.

A New Magical World Blending Modernity and Nostalgia

The newly released main visual depicts the sisters Lilly and Lulu floating in midair while holding their magical staffs, joined by their companions Uguisu and Azuki. Set against a neon colored background, the image leaves a strong impression of a world that seamlessly blends freshness with a sense of nostalgia.

First Main PV Highlights Transformation Scenes and New Characters

In the first main PV, viewers can see the sisters transforming through magic, set to ILLIT’s opening theme song “Bubee.” The video also marks the animated debut of characters such as Toko, Sena, and Miitaa, who until now had only been revealed through illustrations and plush merchandise. The PV offers a glimpse into the story and the whimsical fantasy world of the series.

ILLIT, who perform the opening theme, are a five member group formed through the survival program R U NEXT?. Their song “Bubee” is a dance pop track that fuses elements of Shibuya style subculture with a strong J pop sensibility, enhancing the series’ pop and dreamlike atmosphere. Commenting on the song, the group shared, “The cute lyrics that connect with the anime and the sparkling melody are its biggest charms. We hope everyone enjoys it together with the visuals.”

In addition, general ticket sales have been announced for a premiere screening event to be held ahead of the broadcast. The event will feature an advance screening of the anime, along with a mini live performance and a talk show by the cast, offering fans an early opportunity to experience the world of Magical Sisters LuluttoLilly.
