The completely original TV anime Magical Sisters LuluttoLilly, produced by Studio Pierrot and Bandai Namco Filmworks, is set to premiere in April 2026. This series marks the newest installment in Pierrot’s legendary magical girl lineup, following beloved 1980s classics such as Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel.

The story centers on two sisters: Fu Nonoyama, an energetic elementary school student, and Rui Nonoyama, her quiet middle-schooler sister. Once inseparable, the two have begun to drift apart emotionally. Each girl unexpectedly gains magical powers that allow her to transform into the adult she admires most. Under two strict rules — “the magic lasts for only one year” and “its existence must remain secret” — the sisters begin a new life as idols, unaware of each other’s secret identities.

Fu Nonoyama will be voiced by Mei Tachibana, a current high school student making her TV anime debut. She will also perform as Fu’s transformed form, Konpeto Lily.

Rui Nonoyama will be voiced by Nao Ojika, known for her work in Gakuen Idolmaster, who will also play Rui’s magical alter ego, Mashu Lulu.

Additional cast members include Hiroki Nanami as the cat-like magical creature Uguisu, Ai Kayano as Azuki, Fuka Izumi as idol Toko Kandachi, and Fuu Hirohara as Sena Aozono. Each cast member has shared comments about their roles.

Introduction

Fu Nonoyama is an innocent elementary school girl eagerly awaiting summer vacation.

Her older sister Rui, a diligent and modest middle schooler, was once cheerful but grew more reserved after spending time in the hospital during childhood. Though they used to be close, their hearts have drifted apart.

One day, Fu encounters a mysterious spaceship and gains magical powers, while Rui also receives a different magical gift. Each transforms into the adult she admires, and together they begin new lives as idols—without realizing the other’s secret.

Their rules are simple: “the magic lasts only one year,” and “no one must ever find out.”

Thus begins the story of two sisters leading double lives as magical idols.
