Frieren and her companions receive a request in a village of the Northern Lands to clean a statue of a hero. However, the statue does not depict Himmel, but rather the “Hero of the South,” once hailed as the strongest warrior humanity ever produced. As Frieren gazes upon the statue, she recalls the moment she first encountered the Hero of the South.

Later, upon arriving in the castle town of the Count of Dach’s domain, Frieren’s party is approached by the local lord with a request to retrieve a treasured sword stolen by demons.

Episode 30 marks the on-screen debut of the Hero of the South (voiced by Kazuhiko Inoue), a character who drew significant attention when the cast was first revealed. The Hero of the South once appeared before Frieren long before she ever met Himmel, and their exchange is a highlight not to be missed. In addition, the episode delivers powerful battle scenes, showcasing one of the defining appeals of the Frieren anime through intense and dynamic combat sequences.
