Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will return with its television anime Season 2, scheduled to begin airing on January 16, 2026, every Friday at 11:00 p.m. on Nippon Television’s nationwide Friday Anime Night programming block. To coincide with the broadcast, it was announced on the 16th that a special hot spring and bathhouse collaboration poster campaign will be launched across Japan.

Under the tagline “Magic That Warms You From Within (JP: 体を芯から温める魔法),” the project is a tie up with the National Federation of Ryokan and Hotel Life Sanitation Associations, an organization representing inns and hotels in all 47 prefectures of Japan. Approximately 16,000 posters will be distributed nationwide as part of this collaboration.

The poster artwork depicts Frieren, the elf mage protagonist of Season 2, enjoying a relaxing soak in a hot spring. The series portrays Frieren as a character who secretly loves hot springs, and the scene shown in the poster appears in the anime’s second promotional video for Season 2. Since its release on YouTube last month, that PV has already surpassed approximately 3.2 million views.

This campaign was realized due to the strong thematic connection between Frieren’s fondness for hot springs and the winter season broadcast of the January anime cour. Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is known for featuring a wide variety of spells, not only those used in combat, but also magic that is useful in everyday life, such as spells that completely remove dirt from clothing or spells that turn sweet grapes into sour ones.

The campaign’s tagline, “Magic That Warms You From Within,” echoes this spirit of the series. Just like the spells depicted in the story, hot springs and baths gently warm the body and bring comfort to those who soak in them, making their effects feel almost magical. The collaboration posters allow fans to enjoy this concept through visuals of Frieren wearing a blissful expression as she relaxes in the bath.
