Detective Conan Creator Gosho Aoyama Celebrates Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 With a Special Illustration

The official X account of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has shared a newly unveiled illustration to celebrate the broadcast of Season 2, drawn by Gosho Aoyama, the creator of the popular manga series Detective Conan.

The illustration features Frieren with a cool and composed expression, capturing the character’s calm presence in Aoyama’s distinctive art style. The artwork was created to commemorate the airing of Season 2 Episode 1, which is the 29th episode overall, scheduled to broadcast today at 11:00 p.m. on the Nippon Television network in Japan.

About Frieren

Serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday, Frieren Beyond Journey’s End is a “post-adventure fantasy” that depicts what happens after the hero’s party defeats the Demon King. The story follows Frieren, an elven mage, as she embarks on a new journey with new companions in a world after the hero’s death.

With its unique timeline set after the Demon King’s defeat, the series has captivated readers through its emotionally resonant drama, memorable dialogue, magical and sword-based battles, and moments of gentle humor woven together by its richly developed characters. The anime’s first season aired from September 2023 to March 2024, concluding with Frieren, Fern, and Stark continuing their journey toward Aureole, the resting place of souls. Season 2 begins adapting the story from Chapter 61 of Volume 7 of the original manga.
