First Two Hour Special in a Decade and High Profile Collaborations

The Case of Murder No. 30 (JP: 30号殺人事件) is a completely original story and the first two hour special since the 2016 episode Episode ONE The Great Detective Turned Small. The script is written by Takeharu Sakurai, who has previously worked on Detective Conan films such as One eyed Flashback and Black Iron Submarine.

The BIRDMAN RALLY (JP:鳥人間コンテスト) collaboration episode is set at Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture, where the annual summer event known as the JAPAN INTERNATIONAL BIRDMAN RALLY takes place. The contest challenges participants to compete for flight distance using human powered aircraft. In this episode, Conan becomes involved in a case unfolding at the contest venue. The script is written by Takahiro Okura, known for his work on films including The Million dollar Pentagram and The Bride of Halloween.

The J League collaboration marks the first such episode in three years, following the 2023 broadcast Behind the Scenes of the J League Showdown. Japanese talent Yuka Kageyama, well known as both a Detective Conan fan and a soccer enthusiast, will appear in the episode. Further story details will be announced at a later date.

These announcements were made during the live streamed program Anime Detective Conan 30th Anniversary Information Reveal Special, which aired on the official YouTube channel on the 27th.
