The World Trigger REBOOT Project has officially been unveiled, revealing a bold new direction for the anime series. Details were announced today, December 20, during the World Trigger stage event at Jump Festa, where a teaser movie showcasing the full scope of the project was screened for the first time.

The REBOOT Project is a complete new anime adaptation that starts from Chapter 1 of the original manga. It will newly animate key arcs including the Border Enlistment Arc, the Large Scale Invasion Arc involving the Neighbors, and the beginning of the B Rank Wars Arc. Production will once again be handled by Toei Animation, which worked on the second and third seasons, delivering an enhanced version positioned as a powered up World Trigger First Season.

The teaser movie opens with the sound of ticking clock hands, accompanied by iconic lines from the series, before the World Trigger anime logo emerges on screen. As the logo pulls back with rising intensity in both visuals and sound, Osamu Mikumo’s line, “Please join Tamakoma Second,” appears alongside original manga panels.
The teaser then traces the story backward through memorable moments and dialogue, moving through scenes labeled “B Rank Wars Begin,” “Large Scale Invasion,” “Border Enlistment,” “Black Trigger Capture Arc,” and “Encounter,” each illustrated with original manga cuts.

The video concludes with Jin Yuichi’s symbolic line to Osamu, “Yo. You safe, Glasses?” This is followed by the tagline “A gate from another dimension opens again,” and the message “REBOOT Project Launch,” reinforcing anticipation for the new anime initiative.

World Trigger Festival 2026 Confirmed

In conjunction with the launch of the World Trigger REBOOT Project, it was also announced that the fan event World Trigger Festival 2026 will be held. Marking its fourth edition, the event will take place for the first time in two years on April 26, 2026, at Kanadevia Hall, formerly known as TOKYO DOME CITY HALL.

About World Trigger

World Trigger is a science fiction action series that follows Yuma Kuga, a visitor from another world known as a Neighbor, and Osamu Mikumo, a member of the border defense organization Border. Through encounters and battles with unknown entities, the story depicts their growth and evolving resolve.

The original manga by Daisuke Ashihara began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2013, later moving to Jump SQ. in December 2018. The television anime aired its first season from October 2014 to April 2016, the second season from January to April 2021, and the third season from October 2021 to January 2022.
