The newly produced short, titled Evangelion 30th Anniversary Commemorative Special Screening, runs for about 13 minutes and was created specifically for the event. Series creator Hideaki Anno serves as planner, scriptwriter, and general supervisor, while Naoyuki Asano, who previously worked as animation director on Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time, directs the project.
Veteran creators Kazuya Tsurumaki, Shinji Higuchi, and Ikki Todoroki, all of whom have contributed to past Evangelion productions, are also credited as supervisors. At this stage, story details and character information have not been revealed. The short animation will receive its world premiere as an event exclusive screening.

The film will be shown once per day on a massive LED screen measuring 18 meters wide and 15 meters high, installed on the event stage over the three day festival period. Viewing the screening requires either a STAGE AREA Ticket, which grants access to all stage programs for the day, or an ALL AREA Pass, which allows entry to both the STAGE AREA and the EVA EXTRA 30 exhibition area on a designated date. No additional fee is required. The ALL AREA Pass has already sold out for all dates.
The STAGE AREA features a full day of Evangelion related programs, including performances with voice cast members, creators, and a concert held for the first time. Tickets for the event are currently on sale.
Originally broadcast from 1995 to 1996, Neon Genesis Evangelion depicts a world under attack by mysterious hostile beings known as Angels, and the fate of humanity entrusted to teenage pilots who control the humanoid weapons called Evangelions. The series later relaunched as the Rebuild of Evangelion film series beginning in 2007, with three films released to major success.
The final installment, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time, released in 2021, became the first film in the franchise to surpass 10 billion yen at the Japanese box office, drawing widespread attention and marking a milestone in the series history.
