From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman Season 2 has been officially announced, with the television anime set to air in July 2026 on Japanese broadcasters. Alongside the announcement, a brand new Season 2 logo has also been unveiled.

The series is based on the fantasy novel written by Shigeru Sagasaki and illustrated by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. With a manga adaptation by Kazuki Sato and two spin off titles, the franchise has surpassed a cumulative circulation of 9 million copies. The story is a classic swordmaster power fantasy centered on a clumsy yet overwhelmingly strong middle aged man.

As production on Season 2 begins, enthusiastic comments have arrived from the main staff behind the television anime. With the start of voice recording sessions, the statements highlight the growing unity and momentum among both staff and cast as they bring the next chapter of this heartfelt growth story to life.

Season 2 of the television anime is finally heading to broadcast. The entire staff is working with even stronger unity than before. New characters will appear, and Lord Beryl will be even more active. I am very happy to be involved with the series again as character designer for Season 2. Thanks to everyone, Season 2 has been decided, and I am grateful to continue participating as well. I will do my best, even if only in a small way, to contribute to the series. Because this is Season 2 following the broadcast of Season 1, I was able to understand the story and characters more deeply than when I first read the original work. Creating music with that understanding allowed me to personally dig even deeper into the series.
