The second season of the TV anime From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman has officially been announced and is scheduled to air in 2026. The news was revealed following the final episode of the first season on the 21st. Alongside the announcement, celebratory messages from the original light novel author Shigeru Sagazaki and illustrator Tetsuhiro Nabeshima were released. Additionally, the Blu-ray volumes for the first season, packed with premium bonuses, have also been confirmed for release.

The anime is based on the fantasy light novel series written by Shigeru Sagazaki and illustrated by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. Known for its classic swordsman-action narrative, the franchise has exceeded 8 million copies in circulation, including its manga adaptation by Kazuki Sakatou and two spin-offs.

Reflecting on the announcement, Sagazaki commented:
“When I started this as just another web novel, I never imagined it would come this far.”

He added:
“I hope you continue to enjoy the world of ‘Old Country Bumpkin Sword Saint’ across different media.”

Illustrator Nabeshima expressed gratitude, saying:
“It’s all thanks to everyone who has supported ‘Old Country Bumpkin Sword Saint’!!”

He continued:
“The story will continue through the anime, novel, manga, and spin-offs, so I hope you'll enjoy them all.”

On the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter), a video was posted showing Hiroaki Hirata, who voices Beryl Gardinant, breaking open a celebratory ball to announce the production of Season 2—cheered on enthusiastically by the rest of the cast.
