The preview images for Episode 8 of the TV anime This Monster Wants to Eat Me (JP: 私を喰べたい、ひとでなし) have been revealed. This episode will air on Thursday, November 20 at 11:30 PM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 8 Story

Shiori Oumi learns from Miko Yashiro about the scars on Hinako Yaotose’s body. Through this conversation, Shiori comes to understand that Hinako survived an accident so severe it was a miracle she lived, and how unbearably painful it must have been to continue life while carrying that burden alone.

Meanwhile, during a conversation with Ayame, Hinako finds herself seeing the image of her late mother reflected in her. Hearing this, Ayame reveals that she too once had the experience of being a “mother” in her past.

Introduction

A mermaid girl named Shiori suddenly appears and gently takes the hand of Hinako, who lives alone in a seaside town. She whispers softly: Hinako’s flesh and blood are said to be especially delicious, so much so that countless yokai are drawn to her.

Shiori vows to protect Hinako until she matures and reaches her “most perfect state”… and then, she promises, she will eat her.

Yet within Hinako’s heart arises a desperate thought:

“Maybe this person can grant my wish.”
