The story and preview images for Episode 5 of the TV anime This Monster Wants to Eat Me (JP: 私を喰べたい、ひとでなし) have been revealed. This episode will air on Thursday, October 30 at 11:30 PM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 5 Story

The battle between Miko Yashiro and Shiori Oumi begins after Miko reveals her true form as a fox spirit. During the fight, Hinako Yaotose learns that Miko’s frequent illnesses were caused by her abstaining from feeding, despite Hinako being so close to her all along. As the battle reaches its climax, Miko speaks the names of Hinako’s family members and confesses her true feelings. It is then that Hinako realizes the shocking truth—Miko is the very being she once made a promise with long ago.

Introduction

A mermaid girl named Shiori suddenly appears and gently takes the hand of Hinako, who lives alone in a seaside town. She whispers softly: Hinako’s flesh and blood are said to be especially delicious, so much so that countless yokai are drawn to her.

Shiori vows to protect Hinako until she matures and reaches her “most perfect state”… and then, she promises, she will eat her.

Yet within Hinako’s heart arises a desperate thought:

“Maybe this person can grant my wish.”
