The story and preview images for Episode 2 of the TV anime This Monster Wants to Eat Me (JP: 私を喰べたい、ひとでなし) have been revealed. This episode will air on Thursday, October 9 at 11:30 PM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 2 Story

“I came here to eat you.”

With these words, Shiori Oumi transfers into the same high school attended by Hinako Yaotose. Hinako wonders if this mysterious girl might be the one who can finally end her life. Yet despite Hinako’s expectation, Shiori shows no sign of actually trying to eat her. Perplexed by Shiori’s behaviour, Hinako asks why she does not devour her immediately. In response, Shiori simply says, “Don’t you think humans have their best time to be eaten?”

Introduction

A mermaid girl named Shiori suddenly appears and gently takes the hand of Hinako, who lives alone in a seaside town. She whispers softly: Hinako’s flesh and blood are said to be especially delicious, so much so that countless yokai are drawn to her.

Shiori vows to protect Hinako until she matures and reaches her “most perfect state”… and then, she promises, she will eat her.

Yet within Hinako’s heart arises a desperate thought:

“Maybe this person can grant my wish.”
