New Anime "Oshi no Ko" Gains Attention with Behind-the-Scenes Depiction of the Entertainment Industry
The first episode of the TV anime "Oshi no Ko" aired on the 12th on TOKYO MX and other networks, garnering significant attention.
"Oshi no Ko" is based on the manga of the same name, which began serialization in Shueisha's "Weekly Young Jump" in April 2020. The story revolves around Gorou, an obstetrician-gynecologist who meets his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino. After dying in an incident, Gorou is reincarnated as Ai's child.
The manga is written by Aka Akasaka, known for the popular series "Kaguya-sama: Love Is War." It won first place in the Comics Division of the "Next Manga Awards 2021." The comic has sold over 3 million copies in total.
