The second season of the TV anime "Oshi no Ko" has been announced to air in 2024.

The announcement was made at the special event "Ichigo Production☆Fan Appreciation Festival 2023" held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba on the 26th.

A teaser visual and a visual commemoration video for the second season of the TV anime "Oshi no Ko" were also released. The video features new voices for Aqua, Arima Kana, and Kurokawa Akane.


"Oshi no Ko" began serialization in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha) in April 2020 and is a story set in the entertainment industry. The protagonist, Goro, a practicing obstetrician, meets his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino, but after a certain event, the deceased Goro is reincarnated as Ai's child. This triggers his journey into the entertainment industry, following in her footsteps.

The manga, known for its popularity, is written by Aka Akasaka, famous for "Kaguya-sama: Love Is War – The Geniuses' War of Love and Brains," and has received numerous awards, including first place in the comics category of the "Next Manga Award 2021."

Featuring not only idols and actors but also characters like directors and stage managers, the manga realistically depicts the world of the entertainment industry and has gained popularity. The TV anime was broadcast from April to June 2023, and the production of the second season was announced in the final episode.

The opening theme song "Idol" by YOASOBI reached the number one spot on both the "Oricon Weekly Digital Single (Single Track) Ranking" and the "Oricon Weekly Streaming Ranking" upon its release on June 28. It recorded 26,011,303 plays in a week, becoming a social phenomenon by achieving an unprecedented ten consecutive weeks of over 20 million plays weekly.
