"Dragon Ball" Anime to Start Broadcasting This Fall with New Episodes Written by Akira Toriyama

The new series "Dragon Ball DAIMA" of the anime "DRAGON BALL" (Dragon Ball) is set to be broadcast this fall. This marks the first television anime series in the "Dragon Ball" series since "Dragon Ball Super" ended its broadcast in March 2018, returning after six years.

This announcement was made during the online event "Fuji TV Anime Lineup Announcement 2024" on the 11th, where Masako Nozawa, the voice actor for Goku in "Dragon Ball," made an appearance.

Nozawa showcased a Sukajan jacket, saying, "I even made this jacket for today! It's "Dragon Ball"! Isn't it amazing?"

In the story, Goku and others find themselves shrunken in size, with Nozawa humorously interrogating the promotional staff, asking, "Does everyone shrink in size, not just Goku?"

Finally, Nozawa expressed, "With 'Dragon Ball,' you never know what will happen next. It's a series that can be watched with excitement and anticipation. I hope viewers will look forward to it."

This new work is a completely new anime series for which Akira Toriyama has written an entirely new episode. It's a project closely involving the original creator in aspects such as the story and character design. The series will feature a wealth of newly drafted settings, including vehicles, monsters, and background characters. It tells the story of Goku and his friends, who have become small due to a conspiracy, venturing into an unknown and mysterious world to solve their predicament.
