Mikami will portray Hiori, a very skillful player known for his ball retention and ability to read opponents' movements. Hatano will play Nijiro, a striker with solid skills despite lacking standout abilities or exceptional physical prowess.
Mikami shared his enthusiasm: "When I first encountered this series, it struck me deeply, as it resonated with my career as a voice actor. As someone also pursuing a dream, the determination and passion of these egotists moved me repeatedly. This strong will is something I realized I was missing. I am truly honored to be part of Blue Lock, a series that has given me such insights."

Hatano commented, "Nijiro Nanase has a straightforward and bright personality! He speaks in a dialect, which adds a cute charm. His thoughts and feelings are often visible in his expressions. I want to portray Nijiro's unique traits with sincerity. I'll do my best to live each moment with Nijiro!"

'Blue Lock' is based on the manga of the same name currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. It is a soccer series that follows Japan's national high school player development project, aiming to create a forward with overwhelming egotism, which the national team lacked in the World Cup.

The story revolves around 300 high school players, all forwards, competing to become the ultimate revolutionary striker, sacrificing the soccer careers of 299 others. The manga has surpassed 30 million copies in circulation.

The first season of the TV anime aired in October 2022, and the second season will begin airing in October 2024. Currently, the theatrical film 'Blue Lock -EPISODE NAGI-' is also showing.
