"Blue Lock" is based on the manga of the same name serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. The story revolves around a national project in Japan aimed at producing a forward (FW) player with overwhelming egoism, something the Japanese team lacked in the World Cup. The project gathers 300 high school students, all FW players, and follows the journey of creating a revolutionary striker in Japanese soccer by sacrificing the soccer lives of 299 players. The manga has surpassed a cumulative total of 30 million copies sold. The TV anime started airing in October 2022, with the second season set to begin in October 2024. The movie is based on the spin-off manga "Blue Lock -EPISODE NAGI-" serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, and it reimagines the battle in "Blue Lock" from the perspective of the genius Seishiro Nagi, depicting a new story.
