"Blue Lock" Movie Releases Nagi's "Awakening" PV; New Scene Cuts Revealed Saying "Walking is Too Much Effort"
The new video "Nagi 'Awakening' PV" from the anime film "Blue Lock -EPISODE Nagi-" set for release on April 19, has been unveiled.
This newly released PV focuses on the protagonist, Seishiro Nagi, expressing his lethargy towards daily efforts and future dreams, wondering why everyone else bothers. Seishiro's uneventful and apathetic days change dramatically with the sudden appearance of Reo Mikage. Sparked by this encounter, Nagi's soccer talents bloom, and he joins "Blue Lock" alongside his partner Reo. Here, Nagi is transformed through fierce encounters with the toughest rivals like Kiyoshi Kiyose and Meguru Bachira.
Scenes of life-and-death struggles with Team Z are also depicted, stirring emotions in Nagi he has never felt before, as he realizes, "This is the passion of those who truly fight." The once listless Nagi, through his interactions with his partner, "Blue Lock," and ultimate rivals, experiences an exhilarating personal change and awakening of his "ego."
Additionally, five new scene cuts have been released. These include a cut of Nagi being carried on Reo's back after soccer practice, declaring "Walking is too much effort," and another of Nagi, initially guided by Reo's passes, taking his own shot after his "awakening." These key scenes highlight pivotal moments in the story.
"Blue Lock," originally a manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine, portrays a soccer narrative where Japan initiates a national high school player development project to create a forward with "overwhelming egotism" following Japan's loss at the Soccer World Cup. The project gathers 300 high school forwards, risking the soccer careers of 299 to potentially revolutionize Japanese soccer by creating one ultimate striker. The manga has surpassed 30 million copies in circulation.
The TV anime has been airing since October 2022, with a second season confirmed. The movie, based on the manga "Blue Lock -EPISODE Nagi-" serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, reconstructs the "Blue Lock" battles from the perspective of the genius Seishiro Nagi, offering a new narrative.
