The story is set in a rigorous training facility where 300 young forwards are gathered, each fighting to be the last one standing and thus revolutionizing Japanese soccer. The manga has sold over 30 million copies.

Since its debut in October 2022, the TV anime has been well-received, and a second season has been confirmed. The movie, based on the serialized "Blue Lock -EPISODE Nagi-" in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, reconstructs the battle within Blue Lock from the perspective of the genius Nagi Seishiro, telling a new story.
