Second Season of "Oshi no Ko" Unveils New Information at Live Event; Audience Cheers with Excitement

On the 26th, a live event titled "TV Anime 'Oshi no Ko' Live New Information Unveiling 'Support the Oshi no Ko Committee'" was held in Tokyo, where the main visual and PV for the second season of the TV anime, the opening theme song, broadcast start date, new character information, and character visuals for Aqua and Akane Kurokawa were revealed.

"Oshi no Ko" is a story that began serialization in April 2020 in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha), focusing on the entertainment industry. The protagonist, Gorou, who works as an obstetrician-gynecologist, meets his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino. However, after an unexpected incident that leads to his death, Gorou is reincarnated as Ai’s child. This event sets him on a path into the entertainment industry, following in her footsteps.

The original work is by Aka Akasaka, known for the popular manga "Kaguya-sama: Love Is War." The original manga has won several awards, including first place in the comic category of the "Next Manga Awards 2021." Featuring characters like idols, actors, directors, and backstage staff, the series provides a realistic depiction of the entertainment world, gaining significant popularity. The TV anime aired from April to June 2023.

The second season will feature the "Tokyo Blade" arc, focusing on Aqua, Kana Arima, and Akane Kurokawa, who are set to appear in a 2.5-dimensional stage play.

At the event, voice actors Takeo Ōtsuka (Aqua), Yurie Ikoma (Ruby), Megumi Han (Kana Arima), Manaka Iwami (Akane Kurokawa), and Rumi Ōkubo (MEM-cho) took the stage. When the main visual was displayed on the screen, the audience erupted in cheers of "Oh!" Some fans also noted the presence of "crow feathers" in the visual.

Additionally, when the first main PV was shown, there were loud reactions such as "Oh!" "Awesome!" and "Cool!" The cast members on stage excitedly peeked at the monitor at the front of the stage. Ōtsuka, left alone in his seat, looked on wistfully, eliciting laughter from the audience.

The second season will begin airing on July 3 at 11:00 PM on TOKYO MX and over 30 other stations nationwide. It will also be available for simultaneous broadcast and fastest solo streaming on ABEMA. The opening theme song, "Fatal," will be performed by GEMN, with more details about the artist to be revealed later.

Furthermore, it was announced that Ayane Sakura will voice the original author of the "Tokyo Blade" stage play, Abiko Samejima, and Daisuke Ono will voice the scriptwriter, GOA.
