Special Gifts Announced for the First and Second Weeks of the Revival Screening of "Oshi no Ko"
The first season, episode 1 extended version of the TV anime "Oshi no Ko" titled "Oshi no Ko: Mother & Children" will have a special two-week limited screening in theaters nationwide starting June 7. Details of the gifts for the first and second weeks have been revealed.
For the first week (June 7-13), attendees will receive a set consisting of a B Komachi Ai bromide, illustrated by character designer Hirayama Kanna, and one of four random polaroids.
For the second week (June 14-20), attendees will receive one of six mini colored paper illustrations, also drawn by Hirayama Kanna. This set includes four reprints and two new illustrations.
Additionally, a special stage greeting event will be held on June 8 at Marunouchi Piccadilly, which will be live-streamed to theaters across the country. The event will feature cast members Rie Takahashi, Yumi Uchiyama, Yurie Ikoma, Megumi Han, Tomoyo Takayanagi, and Lynn.
"Oshi no Ko" is a story set in the entertainment industry, serialized in Shueisha's "Weekly Young Jump" since April 2020. The plot follows protagonist Goro, an obstetrician who meets his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino. After a tragic event, Goro is reincarnated as Ai's child and starts a new life in the entertainment industry.
The manga is written by Aka Akasaka, known for the popular series "Kaguya-sama: Love Is War," and has won several awards, including first place in the Comics Division of the "Next Manga Awards 2021".
The anime aired from April to June 2023 and gained popularity for its realistic depiction of the entertainment industry, featuring characters such as idols, actors, directors, and producers.
The opening theme song "Idol" by YOASOBI achieved first place in both the "Oricon Weekly Digital Single (Single Song) Ranking" and the "Oricon Weekly Streaming Ranking" on June 28. The song recorded over 26 million weekly plays, marking a historic achievement of ten consecutive weeks with over 20 million weekly plays. Additionally, the story will be adapted into a live-action series, with a drama series exclusively distributed on Amazon Prime Video and a movie released by Toei in theaters this winter.
The second season of the anime will begin airing in July, focusing on the 2.5D stage play "Tokyo Blade" arc, depicting Aqua, Kana Arima, and Akane Kurokawa's participation in the play.
