Chainsaw Man: The Movie - Reze Arc Reveals Striking New Scene Cuts of Action and Youth, Fireworks Festival Collaboration Confirmed

The highly anticipated sequel to the “Chainsaw Man” TV anime, Chainsaw Man: The Movie - Reze Arc (set for release on September 19 in Japan), has unveiled a series of new updates. Among them is a special collaboration with the Tachikawa Festival Fireworks Show at Showa Kinen Park on July 26, as well as a batch of scene cuts from the recently released teaser trailer, which has already sparked buzz among fans for its intense imagery—including nude scenes.

Advance ticket sales, including MoviTicke cards, begin today, July 18 in Japan. In addition, a large-scale banner featuring the battle between Chainsaw Man and Bomb has been revealed and will be displayed in cinemas nationwide. Fans can also look forward to a striking life-sized standee of Chainsaw Man riding on Beam’s back, as well as a miniature version featuring the lovable Pochita. These theater displays will start rolling out across Japan (excluding select venues) from August 1.

The movie’s original soundtrack, composed by Kensuke Ushio, will be released globally on September 19 via digital platforms, with a special edition to follow in December. The soundtrack spans a wide range of musical styles, from harsh and violent noise to serene, beautiful melodies and everyday, accessible tunes that capture the mood of the story.

Chainsaw Man follows Denji, a young Devil Hunter who lives with the Chainsaw Devil Pochita. Burdened with the debts left behind by his father, Denji leads a grim existence until he forms a contract with Pochita and is resurrected as “Chainsaw Man”—a dark hero with a devil’s heart who hunts other devils.

Originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump beginning in December 2018, the manga has sold over 30 million copies and earned acclaim for its shocking twists and mysterious developments. It was ranked No. 1 in the Male Readers' category of “Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2021.”

The first part of the manga, the “Public Safety Arc,” concluded in the December 14, 2020 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, and the second part began serialization on Shonen Jump+ in July 2022. The TV anime adaptation aired from October to December 2022 and has since been adapted for the stage as well.
