Live-Action Chopper Revealed for ONE PIECE Season 2: “Couldn’t Have Been Done Better,” Say Fans
The highly anticipated first look at Tony Tony Chopper, a beloved character set to debut in Season 2 of the live-action adaptation of ONE PIECE, was revealed during Netflix's global fan event “TUDUM 2025,” which was live-streamed from the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on May 31 (local time).
In the footage, Chopper—known for his bashful personality—tries to hide behind a pillar, only for Luffy to tease him about his visible backside. He then gathers his courage and attempts to introduce Season 2, only to tumble down the stairs in classic comedic fashion. After yelling, “Someone call a doctor!” he quickly follows with, “Oh right, I am the doctor,” delivering his own punchline.
The video continues with Chopper shyly saying, “Stop clapping, you idiots,” before breaking into a charming little dance. His adorably awkward demeanor instantly won over fans.
Fan Reactions: “They Nailed It!”
YouTube comments flooded in with praise:
“Honestly, I deeply respect that they chose to give Chopper a more realistic look instead of a generic high-res anime style. And the moment he started dancing—I was completely hooked!”
“He’s so cute! I can’t wait to see him in Season 2!”
“THEY NAILED IT SO HARD.”
“You couldn't have drawn a better Chopper. It’s perfect.”
“He’s just as shy as in the anime. Love it.”
Season 2 Set for 2026 Release
“TUDUM,” named after Netflix’s iconic startup sound, is the company’s global fan event. The Season 2 cast took the stage at the event, including Iñaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy), Mackenyu Arata (Roronoa Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero Gibson (Usopp), and Taz Skylar (Sanji).
Iñaki commented on behalf of the cast:
“We’re truly thrilled to be here today. Being a part of this live-action adaptation of the world’s biggest manga series has been an unbelievable experience.”
The cast confirmed that filming in South Africa has wrapped and teased that Season 2 will scale up in every way.
Chopper’s reveal at TUDUM marked the first time his front-facing, animated form was shown to the world. A brief teaser showing only his back had been released in September of last year.
The live-action ONE PIECE, based on the globally popular manga by Eiichiro Oda, is currently streaming exclusively on Netflix. Season 2, slated for release in 2026, will follow the journey through the Grand Line with key arcs including Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Cape), Whisky Peak, Little Garden, Drum Island, and the path to the Kingdom of Alabasta.
