Live-Action ONE PIECE Season 2 : Tony Tony Chopper Appears - Special Video Teases His Backside
During the "Geeked Week" event, held by Netflix from November 17 to 20 (Japan time), a special video was released, announcing the appearance of the beloved character Tony Tony Chopper in season 2 of the live-action drama ONE PIECE. Fans were treated to a glimpse of Chopper's adorable silhouette (from behind), which looks as if he jumped straight out of the original manga and anime.
In the special video, viewers are shown a script-reading session featuring the Straw Hat crew, including Luffy (played by Iñaki Godoy), Zoro (played by Mackenyu), Nami (played by Emily Rudd), Usopp (played by Jacob Romero), and Sanji (played by Taz Skylar) from Season 1. It also includes new cast members joining in Season 2. During the session, Iñaki Godoy says, "There's someone else here today... Look!" as the camera pans to reveal the back of Tony Tony Chopper sitting on a chair. Iñaki reacts enthusiastically, saying, "This is a big deal!"
This live-action adaptation is based on Eiichiro Oda's ONE PIECE, which is serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha). The story follows the epic maritime adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, as they search for the legendary treasure, the "One Piece," left behind by the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger.
Season 1, which captivated audiences worldwide, focused on the East Blue saga, portraying intense battles with pirates like Buggy and Arlong, as well as the beginnings of the Straw Hat crew's grand adventure. With bounties placed on their heads, a mark of pirate prestige, Luffy and his companions set sail towards the Grand Line, each one pursuing their dreams.
In Season 2, the crew’s journey towards the Kingdom of Alabasta will cover iconic locations such as Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Cape), Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island.
During Geeked Week, it was also revealed that Joe Manganiello will play Mr. 0, the mysterious president and boss of the Baroque Works, a secret crime organization standing in the way of the Straw Hat crew. Additionally, Lera Abova will portray Miss All Sunday, the vice president and chief commander who partners with Mr. 0.
Joe Manganiello, known for his roles in blockbuster films such as the Spider-Man series, Justice League (2017), and Rampage (2018), brings a commanding presence to the screen, and fans can expect an impressive "Sandstorm" from his portrayal.
Meanwhile, Lera Abova, known for her radiant presence in ANNA (2019), will bring a mix of mystery and melancholy to the role of Miss All Sunday, hinting at deeper plans behind her character's actions.
Additionally, a behind-the-scenes video was released, featuring Jeff Ward, who plays Buggy. The video showcases the production sets and costumes for Season 2, including the lighthouse at Reverse Mountain (Twin Cape), where Crocus lives, and the weapon shop in Loguetown.
