Sendhil Ramamurthy, known for his roles in Grey's Anatomy, Heroes, Covert Affairs, CSI: Miami, and other notable series, has been announced as the actor to portray King Nefertari Cobra of the Arabasta Kingdom in Netflix's live-action adaptation of ONE PIECE Season 2.

ONE PIECE, created by Eiichiro Oda and serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha), is an epic seafaring adventure about Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates as they sail the vast oceans in search of the legendary treasure left by the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger—known as the "One Piece."

Season 2, which delves into the adventures on the "Grand Line," the extraordinary sea beyond all reason, will focus on the journey to the Arabasta Kingdom, a fan-favorite arc in the original manga. Cobra, the father of Princess Vivi, is a beloved king known for his wisdom and many inspiring quotes in the original story. All eyes are on Sendhil Ramamurthy, who has previously been named one of the "100 Most Handsome Faces in the World," to see how he will bring this noble character to life.

In Season 1, the story followed Luffy (played by Iñaki Godoy) as he set sail across the open seas, inspired by the great pirate Red-Haired Shanks, in his quest to become the Pirate King. Along the way, he gathered trusted crewmates like Zoro (played by Mackenyu), Nami (played by Emily Rudd), Usopp (played by Jacob Romero), and Sanji (played by Taz Skylar), and together they began their journey.

Season 2 will see the Straw Hat Pirates, who have forged deep bonds through their Season 1 adventures, embark on further exploits in locations such as Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Cape), Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island.
