Announced cast for Season 2 of the ONE PIECE live-action drama series (C) Eiichiro Oda/Shueisha
The story is set during the Great Pirate Era. The young boy Luffy, inspired by the legendary pirate Red-Haired Shanks, promises to meet him again at sea. Years later, Luffy, now grown, sets sail in search of becoming the Pirate King! Throughout his unpredictable journey, Luffy (played by Iñaki Godoy) meets loyal crewmates Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero), and Sanji (Taz Skylar).
In Season 2, after becoming bounty heads, Luffy and his crew pursue their dreams as they venture into the Grand Line.
In his handwritten letter, Oda stated, "Everyone shares the same passion! Just like with the previous season, they’ve promised not to release the work until I’m satisfied. This isn’t a 'contract,' but more of a 'gentleman's agreement.' I want people to appreciate their dedication and spirit, as well as their incredible filmmaking talent! I can’t wait to see the final product!!"
He continued, "The Grand Line is an ever-expanding world! Which country will be modeled next? How will we link it to reality? I’m thrilled just thinking about the diverse and talented cast members who have gathered from all over the world—it feels like the adventure has already begun!!" Oda also shared his excitement with fans worldwide, teasing that cast announcements will be made over the next three days. "Look forward to the upcoming updates!!"
ONE PIECE Season 1 is streaming exclusively on Netflix, with Season 2 coming soon.
