Live-Action ONE PIECE Season 2 Cast Announcement: Smoker, Tashigi, Wapol, and Dalton Revealed
The live-action adaptation of ONE PIECE on Netflix (original work by Eiichiro Oda, serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump) continues to reveal its cast for the second season, which explores the adventures on the Grand Line. The latest announcements include the casting of Smoker, Tashigi, Wapol, and Dalton.
ONE PIECE follows the epic seafaring adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his pirate crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, as they search for the legendary treasure left behind by the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. Luffy, inspired by the great pirate Red-Haired Shanks, sets out on a quest to reunite with him at sea and ultimately become the Pirate King.
In Season 1 of the live-action series, Luffy (played by Iñaki Godoy) meets trustworthy companions Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero), and Sanji (Taz Skylar).
Smoker and Tashigi, members of the Navy Headquarters, have been cast in this new season. Smoker will be portrayed by Callum Kerr, known for his role in 'Monarch.' Tashigi, the swordswoman accompanying Smoker, will be played by Julia Rehwald, who has appeared in 'Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures.' These two characters have a significant history with the Straw Hat Pirates, and fans are eager to see their roles unfold in the series.
Wapol, a character who has appeared frequently in the original manga, will be played by Rob Colletti, known for his role in 'The Sopranos: The Many Saints of Newark.' Dalton will be portrayed by newcomer Tai Kieo.
In a special video announcing the continuation of the series, Eiichiro Oda hinted, "From here on, the Straw Hat Pirates will need an excellent 'ship doctor'... Stay tuned!" The inclusion of Wapol and Dalton suggests that the series will cover the beloved Drum Island arc.
Season 1 depicted the East Blue saga, featuring intense battles with pirates like Buggy and Arlong, and the origin of the Straw Hat Pirates' adventure. With bounties on their heads, Luffy and his crew set their sights on the Grand Line.
Fans can look forward to more updates about Season 2, which will feature the secret crime organization Baroque Works, giants Dorry and Brogy, Crocus, and the newly announced cast members.
