Production will shift from Toei Animation, the studio currently handling the TV anime, to WIT STUDIO. The series will start from the "East Blue" arc, re-animated as a new anime series and streamed on Netflix (release date to be announced). A special promotional video was also released in conjunction.

The production committee, formed by Shueisha, Fuji Television, and Toei Animation, stated, "This project is about re-drawing the 'ONE PIECE' animation from the 'East Blue' arc with modern visuals. Despite the TV anime series continuing to push forward at full throttle for over 25 years, we aim to offer Luffy's adventure in a nostalgic yet fresh way, exploring expressions that are now possible."

They also mentioned, "The release is still some time away, and it's a long-term project that will take even more time to complete. However, together with our new partners, WIT STUDIO and Netflix, we will do our utmost as the 'ALL ONE PIECE' team to deliver this to fans around the world and to future generations who will encounter 'ONE PIECE.'"

"ONE PIECE," based on the manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" since July 22, 1997, is a maritime adventure romance revolving around the "One Piece," a grand treasure left by the legendary Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. The story follows Monkey D. Luffy, who gained the ability to stretch like rubber after eating the "Gum-Gum Fruit," as he gathers his crew, the "Straw Hat Pirates," and embarks on a grand quest to become the Pirate King.

The manga has sold over 510 million copies worldwide, making it a highly popular series. The TV anime has been airing since 1999, and the theatrical anime "ONE PIECE FILM RED," released in 2022, surpassed 20.33 billion yen in domestic box office revenue, becoming a social phenomenon.
