Kazuki Yao (65), who has voiced Franky in the TV anime ‘ONE PIECE’ for almost two decades since the character’s debut in 2005, has announced his departure from the role. This marks a significant change for the beloved series.

Through the official website and X (formerly Twitter), the announcement titled "Notice of Franky Role Change" revealed:

"Kazuki Yao, who has been performing as Franky in the TV anime ‘ONE PIECE’, will be graduating from the Straw Hat Crew. After extensive discussions over a long period, this decision has been made."

It further stated that the successor to the role will be announced during the “Super Stage RED” segment of ‘Jump Festa 2025’ on Sunday, December 22. A ceremony will also be held to commemorate Yao’s departure. (ONE PIECE Official)
