"Plazma" was specially written as the theme song for Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX and was digitally released on January 20. Along with the movie's massive success, the song quickly dominated the charts, achieving 31 daily chart-topping positions and winning four crowns in the first weekly rankings. It continues to enjoy long-running popularity.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is the latest entry in the Gundam series, marking the first collaboration between Studio Khara and Sunrise. Directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki, the theatrical film released in January became a blockbuster hit, followed by a TV series that began airing on April 8.

The non-credit opening featuring "Plazma" was uploaded to YouTube, where it quickly climbed to the top of the trending charts. After each TV broadcast, related keywords consistently trend on social media, making Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX one of the most talked-about anime of the spring season.
