About Gundam SEED

Debuting in October 2002, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED was the first Gundam TV series of the 21st century, spanning 50 episodes. The story follows Kira Yamato, a genetically enhanced “Coordinator,” as he becomes embroiled in a war between Coordinators and Naturals, represented by the ZAFT military and Earth Alliance.
The series reached a peak viewership rating of 8.0% and garnered a diverse fanbase, including many female viewers and children, fueling a second Gunpla boom. It established itself as a hallmark of the “new-generation Gundam.”

Its sequel, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY, aired in 2004 and surpassed the original’s ratings, reaching 8.2%. With over 4 million physical units sold, the series has influenced not only television but also music and event culture in Japan.
The latest film, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, continues the storyline from DESTINY, introducing a new chapter for Kira, Athlan, and Shinn in a world still gripped by conflict.
