A Nostalgic Look Back at the Gundam SEED Series

First airing in October 2002, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED was the first TV Gundam series of the 21st century. The story follows the conflict between Coordinators (genetically enhanced humans) and Naturals (unmodified humans), with protagonist Kira Yamato navigating his identity and role amid the war between ZAFT and the Earth Alliance.

The series became a cultural phenomenon, reaching an 8.0% peak viewership rating and sparking a second Gunpla boom among elementary school students. Its sequel, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY, aired from October 2004 and surpassed its predecessor with an 8.2% peak rating. The series' total package sales have exceeded 4 million units, cementing its status as a fan-favorite.

Gundam SEED FREEDOM: Continuing the Legacy

The latest film, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, serves as a sequel to Gundam SEED DESTINY, following Kira, Athrun, Shinn, and their allies in a world still torn by conflict. The movie has achieved tremendous success, grossing over ¥5 billion at the box office.
