The latest entry in the Mobile Suit Gundam anime series, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, will air its highly anticipated Episode 4, titled "The Witch's War," today, April 30, at 12:29 AM JST. The teaser shown after last week's episode revealed the appearance of a new character, raising expectations for a major development.

In the preview released after Episode 3, Nyaan asks Machu about the term "Unicam." Machu explains that it comes from Latin, meaning "only one," and also refers to the Federation's top ace pilot who achieved over 100 kills.

Naturally, when speaking of the Federation's ace pilots during the One Year War, many immediately think of Amuro Ray, the protagonist of Mobile Suit Gundam. However, Amuro's whereabouts remain unknown in the world of GQuuuuuuX.

The footage also featured a mobile suit painted in colors reminiscent of a GM unit, along with a female character who appears to be a former Federation pilot. Her role and significance in the story remain a mystery for now.

The movie that had an early screening covers up to Episode 3. Starting with Episode 4, an entirely new Gundam story—unknown even to those who attended the screenings—will unfold.

About Gundam GQuuuuuuX

Set in a space colony, the series follows Amate Yuzuriha, a high school student living a peaceful life until she meets Nyaan, a girl displaced by war. This encounter thrusts Amate into the underground world of Clumbattles, illegal mobile suit duels.

Taking on the entry name “Machu,” Amate pilots the GQuuuuuuX mobile suit and soon finds herself in relentless combat. As the story unfolds, she crosses paths with a mysterious Gundam—pursued by both the Space Forces and the police—and its enigmatic pilot, Shuji Ito, signaling the dawn of a new era.

This latest Gundam installment is a collaborative project between Studio Khara (known for the Evangelion series) and Sunrise (the studio behind all previous Gundam works). Kazuya Tsurumaki, known for directing Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time, helms the project.

The series is written by Yoji Enokido, with mechanical designs by Ikuto Yamashita. The voice cast includes:
