Gundam SEED Recollection Unveils New Anime Footage and New MS Dragoon Strike as Kira and Athrun Clash Once Again
The latest anime installment in the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED universe, titled Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Recollection, has revealed new footage, scene stills, and story details. The new anime showcases the return of Kira and Athrun as they pilot brand-new mobile suits, including the DRAGOON Strike.
This newly produced anime will be integrated into the smartphone game SD Gundam G Generation Eternal, with content set to launch in-game starting from the 30th.
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Recollection serves as a narrative bridge between Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY. The anime is structured in two parts within the main stage of the game: the first half focuses on “Kira’s Battle,” while the latter half shifts to “Athrun’s Battle.” As the world plunges once again into turmoil, the renewed conflict between these two iconic pilots reignites the series' core themes of friendship, ideology, and war.

About Gundam SEED series
The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series first aired in October 2002, marking the first new Gundam TV series of the 21st century. Set in a world divided between genetically modified humans known as Coordinators and naturally born humans called Naturals, the story follows Kira Yamato, a Coordinator who finds himself torn between factions during a devastating war between ZAFT and the Earth Alliance.
The series captured a broad demographic, gaining strong support from female viewers as well as sparking a new Gunpla (Gundam model kit) boom among elementary school students. It reached a peak TV rating of 8.0%, establishing itself as a “Gundam for a new generation.”
Following its success, the sequel series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY aired in October 2004. It surpassed its predecessor with a peak rating of 8.2%, and the franchise’s total home media sales have exceeded 4 million units. With tie-ins spanning music, events, and merchandise, the SEED saga became a full-blown cultural phenomenon in Japan.
