The TV anime adaptation of Aoashi, the popular soccer manga series by Yugo Kobayashi serialized in Weekly Big Comic Spirits since 2015, has officially confirmed production of its highly anticipated Season 2. The new season is scheduled to air in 2026, and a special visual commemorating the announcement has also been released.

Aoashi follows Ashito Aoi, a soccer prodigy from Ehime Prefecture, as he strives to become a professional player through the J.League youth academy system. The first season, aired in 2022, garnered widespread acclaim for its realistic soccer depiction and compelling coming-of-age narrative.

TMS Entertainment will return to produce the animation for Season 2, continuing their work from the first season. As the original manga storyline intensifies, expectations are high to see how Ashito and his teammates will continue to grow and evolve.
