The preview images and story summary for Episode 1 of the TV anime Kowloon Generic Romance have been released. The episode is set to premiere on April 5 (Sat) at 11:00 p.m. JST on the TV Tokyo network, followed by a global streaming release. At the AnimeJapan 2025 special talk show held on March 22, it was officially announced that the series will conclude after 13 episodes.

Episode 1 Story

In the bustling and nostalgic streets of the Kowloon Walled City, Reiko Kujirai works for a real estate agency called “Wong Lai Properties Limited.” Her senior coworker, Hajime Kudou, is habitually late and has a laid-back attitude about most things—but he has an immense love for the city of Kowloon.

One day, Kudou takes Kujirai on a stroll through the city to help her understand its charm, as she confesses that she doesn't feel any particular nostalgia toward it. Their walk ends at a curious café called “Kingyo Chakan (金魚茶館),” one of Kudou’s favorite spots. There, the waitress Tao Gwen mistakes Reiko for Kudou’s girlfriend.

Series Synopsis
