A New Adventure, A Lasting Legacy

‘Dragon Ball DAIMA’ was a completely original anime series featuring an entirely new story personally written by Akira Toriyama. He was deeply involved in the project, overseeing the original concept, story, character designs, vehicles, monsters, and background characters.

The plot revolved around Goku and his friends being mysteriously transformed into smaller versions of themselves due to a hidden conspiracy. To uncover the truth and regain their original forms, they embarked on an epic journey through an unknown and mysterious world.

Premiering in October 2024, the series was the first-ever ‘Dragon Ball’ anime to air in a late-night timeslot. It also surprised fans by recasting voice actors for 12 major characters. Despite these changes, the anime consistently trended on X (formerly Twitter) each week.

A Thrilling Finale That Honored Toriyama’s Legacy

The final episode saw Goku returning to his original form and pushing past his limits to defeat the formidable Giant Gomar, an enemy who repeatedly resurrected using the power of the Third Eye. In a breathtaking battle, Goku fought alongside his allies and ultimately transformed into Super Saiyan 4 to secure victory.

The finale was a perfect blend of Toriyama’s signature storytelling, intense action sequences, and classic humor, making it an unforgettable conclusion.

Fans worldwide took to social media to express their emotions:
💬 “Watching Dragon Ball always takes me back to my childhood memories. Ending it with ‘Oshimai’ was so fitting—it was truly Toriyama-sensei’s style. Thank you.”
💬 “Seeing ‘Oshimai’ at the end really hit me… I felt it deep in my heart.”
