The highly anticipated anime adaptation of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes—the official spin-off series of My Hero Academia—is set to premiere on April 7, 2025. Ahead of its release, character PVs for the three main protagonists have been unveiled.

About My Hero Academia: Vigilantes

Based on the manga written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes ran on the Shonen Jump+ app from 2017 to 2022, with 15 compiled volumes. This spin-off, officially connected to the main storyline of My Hero Academia, takes place several years before the original series.

The story focuses on the Vigilantes, unsung heroes operating outside the law, who risk their lives to help others despite lacking the recognition granted to official heroes.

Koichi Haimawari (The protagonist): Voiced by Shuichiro Umeda

A hardworking college student juggling part-time jobs, Koichi engages in volunteer work resembling heroism, earning him the nickname "Nice Guy" from the local residents.

Pop☆Step (Self-proclaimed idol and Koichi's partner): Voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa

A freelance idol, she performs guerrilla live shows in the streets. Her PV highlights her energetic stage presence while also revealing her more candid side as she scolds Knuckleduster in Koichi’s home.

Knuckleduster (Koichi's mentor who introduces him to the vigilante path): Voiced by Yasuhiro Mamiya

A no-nonsense crime-fighter, known for his brutal, hands-on approach to dealing with criminals. His PV showcases him delivering justice with his fists, as well as humorously ordering Koichi to refill his beer supply.

Connection to My Hero Academia

The original My Hero Academia manga, created by Kohei Horikoshi, debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014 and concluded in August 2024, with over 100 million copies sold worldwide. The main series revolves around Izuku Midoriya (Deku), an aspiring hero in a world where superhuman abilities, known as “Quirks,” are the norm. The anime adaptation began in 2016, and its seventh season concluded in October 2024, with an eighth season in production.
