My Hero Academia x Marvel: Exclusive Spider-Man, Deku, and All Might Collaboration Revealed
In celebration of the final volume of My Hero Academia, creator Kohei Horikoshi has unveiled a stunning collaboration illustration featuring Spider-Man, Deku, and All Might. The artwork pays homage to the deep influence of Marvel Comics on the series and marks an iconic crossover moment between two beloved superhero universes.
The Historic Collaboration
The official Marvel website debuted the illustration today, drawn personally by Horikoshi. It captures Spider-Man alongside Deku (Izuku Midoriya) and All Might, symbolizing the bond between Japanese and Western superhero traditions.
In a surprising twist, the project also features an illustration by legendary Spider-Man artist Humberto Ramos and colorist Edgar Delgado, who stepped in to depict My Hero Academia’s female heroes alongside Marvel’s Black Cat. This collaboration was a last-minute save after artist Olivier Coipel, a fan of the series, fell ill and couldn’t complete his planned piece. Coipel’s work will be shared on the Marvel website upon completion.
Additional Celebrations for Volume 42
Volume 42 of My Hero Academia, released today, includes a 38-page epilogue manga that takes readers beyond the series finale. Fans can also enjoy:
Special Ads: Horikoshi’s new illustrations of Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki have been featured in major Japanese newspapers (Yomiuri, Asahi, and Mainichi).
Outdoor Displays: Posters across three cities now display these fresh visuals, replacing earlier designs showcasing the trio’s childhood.
Special Movie: A commemorative video featuring Horikoshi’s new art premiered on Shueisha’s Jump Channel on YouTube.
