[MHA] My Hero Academia Final Chapter (Season 8) to Air in 2025, Trailer Reveals Story from Manga Volume 40
The eighth season of the TV anime "My Hero Academia," titled "My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON," has been confirmed for broadcast in 2025. The anime will start with the story from volume 40 of the original manga, marking the beginning of the final chapter.
"My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON" will lead up to the climactic battles between Deku and Shigaraki, and between All Might and All For One. A teaser visual for the FINAL SEASON, illustrated by character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi and produced by BONES, along with an announcement trailer featuring Deku's line "This is the story of how we all become the greatest heroes," has also been released.
The original manga is a popular series with over 100 million copies in circulation. Set in a world where superhuman abilities known as "Quirks" are commonplace, the story follows protagonist Izuku Midoriya (Deku) as he strives to become a "hero" who protects society and fights against villains who misuse their Quirks. He grows alongside his friends at the prestigious hero training school, U.A. High.
The manga began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014 and concluded on August 5, 2024. The first season of the TV anime began airing in April 2016, and multiple movies have also been released. The seventh season of the TV anime concluded today, October 12, 2024.
