"Oshi no Ko" Final Volume 16 Released with New 24-Page Epilogue Revealing a Certain Truth
The final volume of the manga Oshi no Ko (Original Story: Aka Akasaka, Art: Mengo Yokoyari) was released on December 18. Volume 16 contains chapters from the climactic Chapter 153 to the concluding Chapter 166, marking the end of the 4.5-year serialization. Additionally, the volume includes 24 pages of new, original content, revealing a certain hidden truth.
To commemorate the series' completion, a special video titled "Oshi no Ko Complete Comic Celebration Movie: To the Dream Stage" will be released on the official Weekly Young Jump YouTube channel, "Yanjan Manga TV [Shueisha Young Jump Official]," on December 23. The video retraces Ruby's life journey as she pursues the dream stage of Tokyo Dome, following in the footsteps of her idol mother, Ai, while striving for stardom alongside Aqua and her friends.
About Oshi no Ko
Serialized in Weekly Young Jump from April 2020 to November 2024, Oshi no Ko explores the light and darkness of the entertainment industry. The story begins with Goro, an obstetrician who meets his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino, only to die under unexpected circumstances. Reincarnated as Ai's child, he embarks on a path within the entertainment world alongside her.
A Multi-Award-Winning Manga and Multimedia Success
With over 20 million copies in circulation, Oshi no Ko has achieved remarkable success. It won the 2021 "Next Manga Award" in the Comics Division. The first season of the anime, which aired from April to June 2023, became a cultural phenomenon alongside YOASOBI's opening theme, "Idol".
The second season aired from July to October, and a third season is now in production. Additionally, the live-action drama premiered exclusively on Prime Video on November 28, and its sequel film will hit theaters nationwide on December 20.
