Drama Series "Oshi no Ko" Heads to Miyazaki: Aqua and Ruby's Birthplace and the Scene of Major Revelations

Amazon and Toei's live-action adaptation of "Oshi no Ko" continues to captivate fans with new developments. The second teaser trailer for the Prime Video drama series has been released on YouTube, featuring pivotal moments from the story. Furthermore, a special preview of the upcoming film "Oshi no Ko – The Final Act" will be available exclusively on Prime Video.

Drama Series Updates and Film Preview Details

Episodes 1 to 6 of the drama series are already streaming on Prime Video as of November 28.
Episodes 7 and 8 will debut on December 5 at 9:00 PM JST.
The theatrical conclusion, "Oshi no Ko – The Final Act", will premiere nationwide in Japan on December 20, distributed by Toei.

The second teaser trailer opens with Aqua (Kaito Sakurai) and Ruby (Nagisa Saito) traveling to Miyazaki, the location of their origins and the murder site of Gorou (Ryo Narita). The trailer highlights Aqua’s relentless pursuit of Ai’s killer and Ruby’s burgeoning desire for vengeance, driven by shocking revelations.

As B-Komachi, the idol group consisting of Ruby, Kana (Hananoha Hara), and MEM-cho (Ano), rises to fame, the trailer depicts Akane Kurokawa (Mizuki Kayashima) uncovering secrets surrounding Ai’s death. It all crescendos with the ominous reveal of a "key figure" at the trailer's conclusion, leaving fans speculating.

Additionally, Prime Video will unveil an exclusive preview of the movie's opening scenes on December 5 at 9:00 PM, offering fans a taste of what’s to come.


What is "Oshi no Ko"?

"Oshi no Ko", a manga by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari, has been serialized in Weekly Young Jump since 2020. By July 2024, its cumulative sales surpassed 18 million copies. With its unique premise of a protagonist reincarnated as the child of a legendary idol, combined with suspenseful twists and an unflinching exploration of the entertainment industry, the series has captured readers across generations.
