During the "Disney Content Showcase 2024" held on the 21st at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, Disney announced that Seasons 1-3 would be produced and exclusively streamed on Disney+. Season 1, titled "Episode of Heartslabyul," is scheduled to begin streaming in October 2025.

Manga artist Yana Toboso, known for "Black Butler," serves as the original concept creator, main writer, and character designer. The well-crafted world, set in a magic training school and enriched by Disney villains' essence, has generated significant buzz, winning multiple awards, such as the "Google Play Best of 2020" Creative Award and "#Twitter Trend Award (now #XTrendAward) 2020" in the game category. Last year, the first-ever fan event "Disney Twisted Wonderland Fes. 2023" brought together 21 voice actors, over 5,000 in-person attendees, and many more via livestream, celebrating the ever-growing popularity of the game.

Following the comic and novel adaptations, the animation project is finally underway. Based on the comics, production has been confirmed for Season 1 "Episode of Heartslabyul," Season 2 "Episode of Savanaclaw," and Season 3 "Episode of Octavinelle."

To commemorate the launch of the animation project, the character designs were revealed, featuring the seven dorm leaders reflected in the "Mirror of Darkness." The visuals show the dorm leaders bathed in monochrome and their respective dorm colors, foreshadowing the vibrant animation yet to come.

Among them, Riddle Rosehearts, the leader of Heartslabyul Dorm, stands out with an expression that seems to directly address the viewer. We can't wait to see how the "Twisted Wonderland" characters will shine in the story and how they will be brought to life in animation.

"Disney Twisted Wonderland: The Animation" is being produced by YUMETA COMPANY × Graphinica, the studio behind the globally successful "Record of Ragnarok II." The chief director is Takahiro Natori, known for "ARIA The BENEDIZIONE" and "Tokyo Mew Mew New." The director is Shin Katagai, recognized for "The Ossan Newbie Adventurer" and "CUE!" The screenplay is written by Yoichi Kato, whose ability to manage large casts has been well-received, with past works including "Space Brothers," "Aikatsu!," and "The Idolmaster Million Live!" This talented staff has gathered to maintain the original game's charm while fully expressing the characters' appeal through animation.

Story

Twisted Wonderland is a world where magic exists. In this world, the legendary figures known as the **Great Seven** have been handed down for generations—the Queen of Hearts, the King of Beasts, the Sea Witch, the Sorcerer of the Sands, the Beautiful Queen, the King of the Underworld, and the Witch of Thorns. In **Twisted Wonderland**, "Night Raven College" stands as the prestigious magic training academy that has produced many great sorcerers over the years.

Under the headmaster's guidance, there are seven dormitories inspired by the "Great Seven," each led by a dorm leader. One such leader, Riddle Rosehearts, is the leader of Heartslabyul Dorm, driven by the strict principles of the Queen of Hearts. Known as the "Crimson Tyrant," Riddle imposes the "Queen of Hearts' laws" on his dormmates, ruling with an iron fist.

Why did Riddle become a "tyrant"? What binds him so tightly?
