The latest box office results for the new movie "Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle" (released on February 16th) have been announced. In 59 days since its release, the film has attracted 6.64 million viewers and surpassed 9.5 billion yen in revenue. (according to Kogyo Tsushinsha)

This brand-new installment follows the fourth season of the anime series "Haikyuu!! TO THE TOP" aired in 2020, consisting of two parts in theaters. The first part features one of the most popular episodes from the manga, the third round of the Spring High School Volleyball, famously known as the "Trash Heap Battle" between Karasuno High School and Nekoma High School. This sequel continues the narrative from "Haikyuu!! TO THE TOP," which covered the Inarizaki High School match.

"Haikyuu!!" is based on the manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from February 2012 to July 2020. It is a youth story centered around high school volleyball. Set in Miyagi Prefecture, it follows protagonist Shoyo Hinata, who joins Karasuno High School's volleyball team aiming to become like the team's former star player, "The Little Giant." Along with genius setter Tobio Kageyama, dubbed "The King of the Court," Hinata and his teammates strive and grow together. The manga series has surpassed 60 million copies in circulation, and the TV anime aired its first season in 2014, followed by the second in 2015, the third in 2016, and the fourth in 2020.
