"Future Boy Conan" was first broadcast on NHK General TV from April 4 to October 31, 1978. It is the de facto directorial debut of Miyazaki, who was becoming known for his work on TV anime such as "Lupin the Third" and "Heidi, Girl of the Alps," where he took on the directing role for the first time. Set in a post-apocalyptic Earth following the final war, the series follows the grand adventures of the wild boy Conan and is packed with elements that would become the hallmark of later masterpieces by Hayao Miyazaki, such as "Castle in the Sky."

This theatrical screening, set to begin on May 24 for a limited one week ahead of the stage adaptation of "Future Boy Conan" opening on May 28, will present the original version, which continues to enjoy strong support from fans. This marks the first time the TV anime version will be screened in theaters, offering a unique opportunity to see it in cinemas nationwide. Special original giveaways for attendees are also planned.
