DEATH STRANDING ISOLATIONS Teaser Trailer Revealed Ahead of 2027 Disney+ Release

KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS has revealed the first teaser trailer and new information for DEATH STRANDING ISOLATIONS, a new animated series scheduled to stream exclusively on Disney+ Star in 2027. The announcement was made during the studio's 10th anniversary event, BEYOND THE STRAND: The Odyssey of Creation and Endeavor.

Introduction

Set in the world of DEATH STRANDING, DEATH STRANDING ISOLATIONS tells a new story featuring original characters while taking place during the same era as the game.

The story unfolds in North America shortly after Sam reconnects the continent through the Chiral Network. As the former United States attempts to become whole again, those connections begin to bring new disasters. Away from Sam and Bridges, several people resist their fate in different ways: an elderly sage seeking to restore the world's connections through an unknown method, a female soldier consumed by destruction and conflict, a boy burning with anger at the world's injustices, and a girl who has rejected all connection with the world.

A new encounter draws the isolated girl toward an unknown place, opening another story hidden behind the Death Stranding.

The synopsis begins with the line, "My mom became a crater." In a world where the souls of the dead become stranded and cause massive explosions when they connect with the living, the girl has been left alone by one such explosion. Rejecting connection, she chooses to live in isolation and let fate carry her forward.

The series is directed by Takayuki Sano, with E&H production bringing the story to life through hand-drawn animation.
