Blue Box Season 2 Main Trailer Revealed, aiko Performs Opening Theme and Recalls Writing Strange Letters to Her Crush at Night

Blue Box Season 2 will premiere on the TBS network on October 4, airing every Sunday at 4:30 p.m. The main visual and main trailer have also been unveiled. aiko will perform the opening theme, “Anata no Hana no Iro,” while Elsewhere Kikou will perform the ending theme, “blue in.”

Blue Box Season 2 Main Visual and Trailer Revealed

The main visual features Chinatsu lying in the snow amid the quiet of winter as snowflakes fall around her. Her shining eyes as she gazes directly toward the viewer leave a striking impression, creating an image that hints at the dramatic developments to come in Season 2.

The main trailer introduces Yumeka, a new character who appears before Taiki and Chinatsu and brings major upheaval to their lives, setting the story in motion. As the seasons change, the evolving relationships between the characters and their wavering emotions are portrayed through a series of emotional developments.

aiko Performs the Opening Theme “Anata no Hana no Iro”

Reflecting on her own youth, aiko commented:

“Back in my school days, school and my room were everything to me. I would laugh so hard with my friends over silly things that my stomach felt like it might cramp up. At night, I would write strange letters to someone I liked, then read them again the next day and end up throwing them in the trash. Every single one of those moments that has stayed with me is still a precious part of who I am now as an adult.

“This song became one that feels as if both my present self and my past self are in it! I think it became a song that could put those feelings from back then into words precisely because I am an adult now. I hope this song is playing in the hearts of Taiki and Chinatsu too!”

Elsewhere Kikou Performs the Ending Theme “blue in”

Elsewhere Kikou, who performs the ending theme, reflected on the band’s previous connection with the anime:

“The first time Anno Omoi, our vocalist and guitarist, sang for a story within an anime was ‘Koiiro,’ the insert song in Episode 24 of the second cour of Blue Box. We were able to take part after receiving an offer from Takashi Ohmama, who is in charge of the music. It was an experience that shone blue for us.

“What happened this time was something we could never have imagined back then. I still vividly remember the buoyant excitement and the gentle weight I felt on the day it was decided that we, the two member band Elsewhere Kikou, would write the ending theme for Blue Box.”

The band continued:

“To walk forward one step at a time alongside dreams that cannot be dissolved, carefully taking in every scene and every feeling. We created this song while valuing the sincere aspirations that Blue Box expresses so powerfully, as well as the pain and kindness of facing things without looking away, feelings that overlap with our own, and those subtle emotions that cannot be put into words.

“As we walk alongside the broadcast beginning in October, we hope this can become music that people can entrust a little of their uncertainty to. We would be very happy if you enjoy it together with the anime.”

About Blue Box

Blue Box is a youth sports romance that begins with Taiki Inomata, a member of the boys’ badminton team, falling in love with Chinatsu Kano, an older student on the girls’ basketball team whom he sees every morning at the gym during early practice.

Then, one spring as the students move up to the next grade, an event occurs that suddenly changes the distance between the two.

The series delicately portrays its relatable characters as they devote themselves wholeheartedly to their respective sports while carrying their own feelings, along with the subtle emotions that arise when someone falls in love.

The anime is based on the manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from April 2021 to July 2026. The manga has more than 10 million copies in circulation. The first season of the television anime aired from October 2024 through March 2025.
