Blue Box Manga Surpasses 10 Million Copies as Season 2 Anime Set for October Premiere
The latest Volume 25 of the manga Blue Box was released on the 1st, pushing the series’ total circulation beyond 10 million copies.

Serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since April 2021, Blue Box is a youth sports romance story. It follows Taiki Inomata, a member of the boys’ badminton team, who develops feelings for Chinatsu Kano, an upperclassman in the girls’ basketball team. Their story begins as they find themselves alone together every morning during early practice in the gym. As spring arrives and they advance to the next grade, a certain event dramatically changes the distance between them.
The series is known for its grounded characters, portraying their dedication to club activities while delicately capturing the emotional nuances of falling in love.
Since its debut, the series has received strong acclaim from readers. It won the Global Special Award at the Next Manga Awards 2021 and ranked fourth in the Recommended Comics Selected by Nationwide Bookstore Employees 2022.
In addition to surpassing 10 million copies in circulation, Blue Box has also attracted attention through collaborations, including a campaign with Asahi Soft Drinks’ Calpis brand in November 2022.
The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2024 to March 2025, and the highly anticipated second season is scheduled to begin broadcasting this October.
