Star Detective Precure! Episode 30 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Eclipse Shadow Appears as Arcana Bursts Into Tears

The story and preview images for Episode 30 of the new anime Star Detective Precure! (JP: 名探偵プリキュア！), the 23rd installment in the long running Precure series, have been revealed. The episode will air on August 23 at 8:30 AM (JST).

Episode 30 Story

With summer vacation underway, Anna Akechi and the others help student council president Rei Kaneda tend to the flower beds at Makoto Mirai Academy, which Rei is responsible for looking after.

The school chairman also joins them, and the work proceeds smoothly. As Kurea Howa recalls how she also used to tend the garden at the Curett Detective Agency in London, Rei notices that all of the zinnia flowers that had been blooming just moments earlier have been cut off.

Kurea examines the scene using the Pre-Kit Mirror Loupe and discovers that the remaining zinnia stems were cut with a blade. Footprints are also found near the flower bed.

Kurea’s deductions give them an idea of who was responsible, but Anna and the others are left wondering, “Why would someone do something like this?”

Kurea, however, simply says, “That’s easy,” and smiles before explaining, “It’s because of Rei’s dedication and kindness.”

Introduction

Star Detective Precure introduces the first detective themed Precure storyline in the franchise and is set primarily in 1999. The protagonist Anna Akechi is a 14 year old second year middle school student living in Makoto Mirai Town. On her birthday, she encounters a fairy named Pochitan and is guided by a mysterious pendant found in her room, triggering a time slip from the year 2027 back to Makoto Mirai City in 1999.

There, Anna meets another 14 year old girl, Mikuru Kobayashi, who dreams of becoming a great detective. When a series of incidents begin to occur, the two girls find themselves unable to ignore people suffering from stolen treasured possessions. Together, they transform into the Star Detective Precure, solving mysteries with the catchphrase “That mystery will be cured” while protecting smiles through sharp deduction and searching for clues that may allow Anna to return to her original time.
